Cut from a single solid Chinese fir log (Cunninghamia lanceolata) — no boards, no joinery. Chinese fir is a lighter, softer wood than camphor, with a pale honey grain and a faint natural resin scent.

Left with a raw, hand-finished surface — every knot, bark edge, and grain line is unrepeated. No two stumps are identical.

Use as: a stool, plant stand, side table, or entryway shoe bench.

Choosing the right wood for your stool

Fir wood: Light-toned softwood with a calm grain and approachable, natural appearance. It is practical and visually relaxed, but softer than dense hardwood.

Best use: Best for decorative stools, plant stands, entryway use, and light-to-moderate household seating. For busy commercial dining, choose a denser hardwood or confirm the supplier load rating.

How it feels over time: More yielding and more likely to show marks than hardwood; the appearance can develop with use rather than staying perfectly uniform.

Care: Keep indoors, wipe with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth, and avoid prolonged moisture, direct heat, and harsh cleaners. Natural wood may shift subtly with seasonal humidity.
