Each piece is cut from a single solid camphor wood (Cinnamomum camphora) log — no boards, no joinery, no veneer. The natural aromatic wood retains its bark-edge silhouette and root grain, so no two stumps are ever identical.

Camphor wood is naturally insect-resistant and slow to warp, with a warm honey-to-amber grain that deepens with age. Left with a raw, hand-finished surface — imperfections and all — in keeping with a Wabi-Sabi appreciation for natural material.

Use as: a stool, a plant stand, or a side/accent table, depending on the size you choose.

Choosing the right wood for your stool

Camphor wood: Aromatic, naturally distinctive, and visually warm. Camphor has expressive grain and a characterful organic look rather than a perfectly uniform finish.

Best use: Best for occasional seating, entryway seating, a bedroom perch, or a side table where its natural character is part of the design.

How it feels over time: Typically lighter and more characterful than dense hardwoods; expect natural variation and an individual grain pattern.

Care: Keep indoors, wipe with a soft dry or slightly damp cloth, and avoid prolonged moisture, direct heat, and harsh cleaners. Natural wood may shift subtly with seasonal humidity.
